Synopsis
Lakota is a children's book which focuses on cultural diversity through the experience of a Native American child and how her dream becomes a reality through the help of her friends. The age group of the book is for ages 5 to 12. It provides the reader with information on languages, cultural traditions and ethnic foods. The main character is faced with adversity but learns how to overcome it with the help of the community. Furthermore, the reader will have the opportunity to see the importance of family, friends, and community.

Ruben Britt Jr.
Ruben Britt, Jr. is a native of Roxbury, Massachusetts, who has over 28 years of experience in education as both a teacher and as a career planning counselor. He has written a children's book on cultural diversity and he has written a number of articles related to education and career development, as well as facilitated or presented numerous seminars, workshops and lectures. Ruben attend the College of Sequoias and received his B.S. degree from Southern University and M.A. degree from Bloomsburg University, Presently, he is a career and academic advisor at Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey.
