Synopsis

When the director of Madrid’s prestigious Prado Museum learns that its most famous painting, Goya’s The Nude Maja, is a forgery, he turns to David Croft, world-renowned art historian, to find the original. The 1800 painting was controversial at its inception and now, more than two hundred years later, it has again become the center of attention. Croft’s task is not an easy one. Spain’s ruthless Basque terrorist organization, ETA, is after the painting for the money it can bring, while Japan’s wealthy art patron, Ishii Tanaka, is determined to add the painting to his eclectic collection. Caught between these two ruthless enemies who are not above deceit, murder and car bombings to get the painting, David Croft must not only locate The Nude Maja first…. he must also stay alive.

Author Biography

Joseph Steven

Joseph Steven, is a former New York trial attorney who for the past fifteen years has devoted himself to the production of independent films by specializing in the acquisition of financing in this country and Europe.

He is also an accomplished photographer. He was the first photographer to ever be granted a one-man exhibition at the prestigious Toledo Museum of Art, Toledo, Ohio in 1973-74. Joseph has also published the novel, Dancer in the Dark.
